In an attempt to refocus on the task at hand, CST Racing headed out to the Snore Buffalo Bills 400 to test and prep for the upcoming SCORE Tecate Baja 500. A race saturated with class 10 cars, no other trophy trucks had entered so we opted to enter into class one. ? The challenge for us today is to continue tuning our truck to be able to run with the big boy?s. We will expect to run a competitive consistent pace at the 500 with a goal to finish in the top ten. I also want to get my son Michael behind the wheel, as a rookie this is the perfect race for him to get some driving time.? stated Chris Robinson.

Starting out Friday the pre-run went flawless and the team was ready for the 9: 00 am start on what turned out to be a beautiful day for racing. Fourth off the line Saturday morning, Chris took off strong catching the leader within the first 5 miles, but shortly after a wire pinched and over heated shutting down the truck for about 45 minutes. Back on pace we were 55 minutes down to the leader and charging, making up about 20 minutes a lap. The day was going well, with the Toyo tires digging in and the Fox Racing Shox soaking up the rigorous terrain of the desert, until trouble struck. Running on a borrowed set of axles the passenger side cracked severely and would finish our day. Already accomplishing what needed to be done, Chris felt it was the right decision to pack it up. ?The truck preformed better than expected and the axle, well that?s racing. We would have liked to finish but we will take the knowledge gained and move on to the next race. I am proud of Mike and glad to see that in his first race he was able to keep us right on pace.?
